The Berry Group and RMSArchitecture are very excited (not to mention astonished) to announce that our “Cape Cod Revisited / Riggs Renovation” project has been cited as the Best in American Living, Remodel of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders in Orlando, Florida on January 11, 2017! The project also received a Best in American Living Platinum Award for Remodel over $250,000.
The project is a remodeling, renovation, and preservation with additions to a Cape Cod-style, family house in Clemson, SC built in 1950. The daughters who grew up in the house now live again in their family house, renovated and remodeled for today’s lifestyles and larger family gatherings. Walls were opened up, windows were enlarged, staircases were reconfigured, and special touches were preserved. Two wing additions to the rear of the house embrace a new patio garden while maintaining a tidy, street front appearance. A new kitchen takes advantage of the former sunroom location for updated sensibilities and efficiencies. The interior, bathed in daylight with expansive garden views, provides comfortable and updated functionality while preserving the familiar essence of home.
